about us
We Are Cruisers too!
20,000+ Nautical Miles
Our family decided we were going to be full time cruisers in 2018. We sold our houses, belongings and everything we had built in our 8 years living together for a life of traveling. In 2019, we had bought our Westerly Sealord monohull sailboat and started th journey of hands on learning how to sail by taking our new home from Fort pierce to Kemah Texas. We Spent 8 months in Texas doing our liveaboard refit and building plans for our big adventure.
In March of 2020, We set sail to Galveston with plans of crossing the Gulf again! A couple days into our 7 Day sail, Our auto pilot broke and we had to properly sail the remainder of the trip. We arrived in Pensacola Florida on day 7 to Covid, and everything already ransacked. The grocery stores were bare and we were not allowed to buy more than 2 cans of soup at a time. There was an overwhelming feeling set in because the world was shutting down and we had no groceries available and an almost empty food pantry since we were feeding 3 adults and a kid aboard. We had spent months prior without social media because we were hyper focused on completing out projects before launching the adventure and was blind sighted by the virus hitting so hard.
We ultimately decided that sailing is social distancing, and we are less likely to catch anything if we are traveling so we decided to keep moving, fish for our food, make it up to Connecticut which was our first year goal and see where the world is from there.
As we traveled we heard from a lot of boaters who had loads of boat issues and no one was available to help them due to covid restrictions. John, has worked on cars, motorcycles, boats and submarines with a history in Mechanics and Electrical fields. We installed our own solar, water makers, fiberglass, interior design, sail repair, sewing with our sailrite and worked on other vessels throughout our travels. Our name travelled fast, and it felt like anywhere we dropped anchor, we had boaters at our hull asking questions.
After 3 years of traveling we decided to pull into Jacksonville for a longer period of time so that we can fix our boat, restore our kitty funds, and launch an app that we feel will be amazing for the boating community.
If you would like to read more about the app It will be called Cruisersapp and you can go to the website HERE
Along side our App idea we decided to build a marine business too! We love learning the ins and outs of every vessel we come aboard and we wanted to build a business out of it. We ended up buying a retired Police Hostage Surveillance van and converted it into a mobile marine shop.
Papa John
Introducing John! With 15 years in Mechanics he was feeling burnt out by his management position and decided to chase the live aboard dream instead. We all jumped aboard the mission and spent 3 years traveling the coast line and The Bahamas.
Mama Meg
Megan has been the glue to our family. She handles all the offshore meal preps, cleaning, adventure planning and maintains her happiness through fire dancing and dressing up like a pirate to entertain our boat neighbors. She’s an excellent energy to be around. She is launching a podcast about sea stories so If you would like to share a story with her send her an email !
Tigershark
This is Tigershark. He is one of the main reasons we took on a traveling lifestyle. We wanted to spend his childhood together instead of working away his younger years. Tiger is a very intelligent and witty kid. If you see him walking the docks , you will be enlightening by his sea stories and eagerness to communicate about all the awesome books he has read lately.
Sailing Spyridon
